I lost a client over a benefit table. Here is what that cost me — and what it should save you.

Six weeks of negotiation, and they went to another HMO on price. That loss taught me more about how Nigerian companies actually buy health cover than any win ever did. Everything I learned is in the free report below, and in five free tools you can use right now without giving me anything.

My name is Azuka. I handle corporate partnerships at ClearlineHMO — the HMO owned by GreenLife Pharmaceuticals, the people who make Lonart DS. I am not going to pretend I am neutral. I sell health insurance for a living.

What I will do is tell you the things my industry usually does not.

Earlier this year I spent six weeks with a consulting firm in Lagos. Good people. We went line by line through the benefit table — maternity caps, admission days, global limits, whether their preferred hospital stayed in network. I answered everything. They went with another HMO because the price was lower.

On a benefit-table comparison, every HMO is one column among four — and the cheapest column wins. That is not a sales problem. That is what happens when a buyer has no way to tell the columns apart.

The problem was never their decision. It was that nobody had ever shown them what to actually compare. So they compared the only number they understood, which was the premium — and the premium is the one number that tells you least about whether a plan will pay when someone is on a hospital bed.

Since then I stopped opening with plans. I open with a question instead: what does staff illness already cost you? Almost nobody knows. It sits off-budget as hospital bills the MD pays personally, salary advances that never come back, and days lost that nobody counts.

That is what this report is. It is not a brochure and there is no plan in it.

You pay nothing. Not now, not later, not if you never speak to me again. The tools stay free forever.

Why? Because I would rather show you the problem than talk to you about it — and because a healthy team is a team that makes you money. If the numbers worry you, you will find me. If they do not, you have lost nothing.

Who we are. This platform is operated by Azuka Orumgbe on behalf of Clearline International Limited (ClearlineHMO), 290 Ikorodu Road, Anthony, Lagos, Nigeria — an HMO accredited by the National Health Insurance Authority.

What we collect, and when. The free tools collect nothing. Your answers to the wellness check, the workplace audit, the symptom guide, and the HMO navigator stay in your own browser and are never transmitted to us. You can use every tool without giving us anything.

We only receive data in two situations: when you fill in the form on this page (name, email, WhatsApp number, staff band), and when you choose to send us a WhatsApp message from within the tools — in which case the message contains whatever the page has composed, and nothing is sent until you press send.

Health information. Health data is sensitive personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. We do not collect, store or process your individual health answers. If you later take part in an on-site staff screening, that is governed by a separate written consent form, individual results go only to the individual, and employers receive anonymised group totals with no group smaller than ten people reported.

What we do with your contact details. Send you the report you asked for, and occasionally send related material. We do not sell, rent or share your details with third parties for their marketing. Unsubscribe links are in every email and we act on them.

Cookies and tracking. We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure whether our advertising works. It sets cookies and reports aggregate events. You can block it with browser settings or an ad blocker and everything on this site will still function.

Retention. Contact details are kept while you remain on the list and for twelve months after you unsubscribe, then deleted.

Your rights. Under the NDPA 2023 you may ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email o.azuka@clearlinehmo.com or WhatsApp 0811 579 8092 and we will act within 30 days.

Not medical advice. Nothing on this platform diagnoses, treats or replaces a qualified health professional, and the financial figures are planning estimates built from the answers you give.
